![]() ![]() ![]() While you were there, should have replaced the filter.Data AgreementSpecifications, features, equipment, technical data, performance figures, options, and color and trim are based upon information available at time of publication, are subject to change without notice, and are for mainland U.S.A. It is easy to get to and requires simple removal to remove and replace the CAF. Is shameful they wanted that much to replace the sensor. The TSB doesn't just cover the Fiesta I know for certain that this TSB includes the 13-14 model Escapes, possibly other models also. This limits air flow across the sensor and gives it a faulty reading. This fixes the problem.Ī dirty cabin filter can cause the system to have troubles if it's really dirty and clogged. The TSB states to remove that hoop by cutting the plastic hoop off. There is a hoop around the temp sensor to protect it. I don't if your particular sensor is designed the same but the 13-14 models has a TSB about AC freezing up on extended usage. I took the temp sensor out and cleaned it with electronic parts cleaner and reinstalled it after a slight modification. That has nothing to do with it and then I suspected the temp sensor. ![]() I suspected a blend door actuator not allowing to switch between u side and outside air for recirculation. System is charged aand fine and normally blows ice cold. My was doing g exactly this or not cooling as it should be. There is another post jist recently posted about AC intermittently blowing hot and cold. I'm aware that wouldn't stop them from charging me for it though. I don't think they'd have to recharge the system, but that's just based on how awesome it worked for the minute and a half that it worked perfectly as I was driving off. So I assume they done their own bypass to check what the problem was and found that the ac is charged fine, and all the other parts are working, it's just that this sensor is kicking the compressor back off. I read up on a couple things about how to bypass the sensor with a such and such ohm resistor but I'd rather not do that if I can fix it myself.Īnyway, when I picked it up from the dealer, the air was ice cold like normal, but kicked back off before I got off the lot. When the dealer told me the problem and how much it costs I told them not to fix it. I drove it to the airport with it working and a week later when I got back in to go home, it wasn't. ![]()
